William S. Takacs, 67, of Garfield, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Born in Passaic, Bill resided in Garfield all of his life. Before his retirement, Bill was employed with Sam Ash in Paramus as a music equipment repairman. Bill was a talented musician and played the bass guitar in local bands including The Wretched Ones and The Pickles.
Bill was a member of Christ Church in Hackensack and the American Legion Post #415 in Saddle Brook and American Legion Post #69 of Carlstadt..
He was predeceased by his parents, William Takacs and Florence (nee Fukes) Takacs.
Survivors include: his beloved wife, Jadwiga Sokolowicz; his aunt, Eleanor Fukes and several cousins.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 4, 2024 at 9:00 am at the funeral home followed by entombment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
